Black Forest was founded by Mr. Hans-Peter Blumer, German, in 1994. At that time the choice of quality beverages was very limited on Phuket Island. Himself being a connoisseur Peter got the idea of looking into the options of importing to the island.
Other had tried and given up so it was not expected to be too easy - and it wasn't. Contract negotiations, payment terms and customs regulations proved to be hard nuts to crack (and can still be), but with an ever optimistic and "gemuetlich" (German for "friendly and humouristic") personality Peter soon overcame the obstacles.
After proving his ability to make it work in a challenging environment Peter continuously and successfully approached some of the best known brand names.
Of course one man doesn't do it alone. Black Forest collected over time a number of great team members. Many are still around, some being with Black Forest for most of a decade.
Philosophy
"When it comes to beverages you can't fool anyone" says Peter. "People know what they want and they know what it is the very second they take the first sip! The only philosophy that lasts is to provide proper quality - and then we have to fight to get it to the lowest possible price."
